Connected heat metering
Clearer insight into heat use, with less reliance on manual readings. We’re developing a connected metering solution that brings data from compatible existing heat meters into one accessible information system.
Turn readings into useful information
We’re developing collection at 5–15 minute intervals to give operators a timely view of consumption and operating conditions. Organized records help investigate heat loss, piping issues, and unusual usage, prioritize investment, and assess the results of building improvements.
Our solution focuses on connecting compatible existing meters using IEC 62056-21 for local meter data exchange, so each project starts with the equipment already at the site. We confirm the interface implementation and available readings for each model.
Fit the system to your meters
- Which meter interfaces and data fields are available?
- How reliably can readings be collected in the intended setting?
- Which interval between 5 and 15 minutes suits the meter and operator’s needs?
- What happens when power or communications are interrupted?
- How should data access, storage, and support responsibilities be arranged?
How we approach the work
A focused demonstration should distinguish real meter readings from simulated data, test the proposed communications path, and establish what an operator needs to see. Wider deployment requires further consideration of installation, support, and data handling.
Public results
Compatibility information and demonstration results will be published when their scope has been verified and cleared for public use.
